Connecting a Four-Drive System to a Host Computer or Switch

You can connect your Xserve RAID to a host computer using one ﬁbre channel cable if your

drive modules are on one RAID controller.

If your drive modules are spread across both RAID controllers, two on each controller,

connect both controllers to the host computer using two ﬁbre channel cables.

Connecting a Seven-Drive System to a Host Computer or Switch

You can connect your system to a host computer or switch using one ﬁbre channel cable if

your drive modules are on one RAID controller.

If your drive modules are spread across both RAID controllers, two on each controller,

connect both controllers to the host computer using two ﬁbre channel cables.

Connecting a 14-Drive System to a Host Computer or Switch

You can connect your system to a host computer or a ﬁbre channel switch using one ﬁbre

channel cable connected to each RAID controller.
