4 Push the carrier to the

far left. Using a feeler

gauge, measure the gap

between the front of the

print head and the metal

shield on the paper

guide.

5 Subtract the right gap

clearance from the left

gap clearance.

• If the difference is a

positive number,

install a shim.

• If the difference is a

negative number,

remove a shim.
