
Step 1: Connect your external hard drive to the computer
Once your drive has connected to your computer, it should show up on the
desktop. Double click on the drive icon to open it, then navigate to the “TAMI
Transfers” folder so that your individual video fi les are listed in the pane to the
right in the Finder.
Move the Finder with your list of fi les to the side of the screen. You will need to be able to
access it in order to place fi les in your DVD.
Step 2: Launch iDVD and open a new DVD fi le
A er launching the program (see above for help
fi nding it if you don’t know where it is), you will
be given a welcome screen. Select “Create a new
Project.”
In the example here, I have moved
the Finder to the top le hand
corner of the screen and the iDVD
window to the bo om right hand
corner of the screen. But you
can place them wherever is most
convenient for you.

You can name the project whatever you like (e.g.
Home Movies Disk 1) and save it in a place that is
convenient for you to fi nd.

When crea ng a project, for “Aspect Ra o”
select “Standard (4:3).” You can select
“Widescreen (16:9)” if you wish, but all video
fi les from TAMI are standard defi ni on (4:3).
If you choose 16:9 and play the DVD on a
standard defi ni on television, your movies will
be le erboxed - they will not fi ll the screen
and will look smaller.
When you are fi nished naming your DVD project, select “Create.”
Move the iDVD window to a por on of your screen so that you can s ll see the list of your
video fi les in the Finder.
