The Assets tab is similar to the Browser in Final Cut Pro, as it is

made up of a number of columns providing you with information on the

assets. Shift–Space bar will maximize the quadrant for you to see informa-

tion that includes the status, type, and size of your assets. Pressing Shift-

Space bar again will return the quadrant to its normal size.

3 Click the disclosure triangle next to each folder to close the folders.

You can stay organized and navigate through the large number of assets by

opening the folders as you need to see the assets.

Folders are a great tool for keeping things organized. You can

create subfolders, move assets between folders, and move folders within

the Assets tab.

Creating a Motion Menu

Using a video clip as a moving background can add greatly to any menu by

being visually pleasing and conveying additional information to the viewer.

Next you will create a motion menu that will use a video background to publi-

cize the new show and promote the overall look of the cable channel.

Applying a Motion Background

The motion menu movie you will use was created entirely in Apple Motion software.

1 Click the Menu tab in quadrant 2 to display the Menu Editor if it is not

already displayed.
